How to Bolster Your Immune System
1. Eat organic vegetables and fruits and grass-fed sources of meat, if possible. This will help eliminate pesticides and chemical fertilizers from your diet. This will clear them from your organs and allow the immune system to work effectively.
2. Avoid high sugar foods, white flour, and saturated fats in your diet. Eat a balanced diet: 2 servings of protein, 3 of dairy, 4 of starchy carbohydrates and whole grains, and 5 to 9 of fruits and vegetables every day. Bake, boil, and broil foods, instead of frying them. Take a daily multivitamin. Eat larger meals early in the day and smaller ones in the evening to help avoid weight gain. Be sure to eat plenty of foods containing vitamin C, such as citrus fruits and tomatoes.
3. Exercise daily to reduce stress, increase the body’s ability to get oxygen to the cells efficiently, lower blood pressure, prevent strokes and heart attacks, and decrease body fat. Reduce stress with music, meditation, massage, and aromatherapy. Take time off from work to pursue interests you enjoy.
4. Seek treatment for depression and other mental illnesses, but avoid mind and mood altering drugs, if possible.
5. Sleep in a dark room to avoid having light interfere with your sleep cycle. Get seven to nine hours of sleep per night.
6. Save your newborn baby’s cord blood. The antibodies and stem cells it contains may be used to save your child’s life in certain life-threatening situations.
7. Get appropriate vaccinations to prevent illnesses such as chicken pox, measles, hepatitis, cervical cancer, polio, tetanus, etc.
8. Quit smoking! Smoking depresses the immune system and causes it to be or makes it more difficult to recover from serious diseases, such as cancer.
9. Drink plenty of water.
10. Folate is a supplement that may boost the immune system. Always check with your doctor before taking any supplements.
