There are certain types of food that our bodies find harder to digest than others. If you are susceptible to excess gas and experiencing feeling bloated quite often then perhaps you should consider not having such a big helping of these ‘problematic’ foods.
Beans, sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and spicy foods all contain certain sugars that are harder to digest. This is not to say that you have to leave them out of your diet completely, but eat them in sensible amounts.
You can purchase products called ‘digestive enzymes’ which will help to break down the food therefore assisting with digestion. They are designed for people that suffer with a poor digestive system, and are harmless. They are made from the purest materials and, if possible, combined with ingredients that are organic in nature.
Drinking more water will work wonders for your digestion as water naturally flushes out your system, also eating more fresh fruit & vegetables will help as these are approximately 80% water based.
Good digestion depends on many things. Consuming more fibre will aid your digestion as it provides bulk that in turn helps to move the food through the intestines quicker. You could try eating a bran based breakfast cereal first thing each morning. Also, many of the dried fruits have a high fibre content.
Walking is another brilliant way to aid digestion, and has the added advantage of keeping you healthy. Exercise helps to keep everything moving including the digestive system.
Peppermint helps to relax the digestive muscles therefore aiding digestion so even just sucking a peppermint sweet can help you in your search for better digestion.
